Sorry. I really did send this on Friday but it bounced back,
and since my computer at home is being upgraded I didn't
find out until I came to work on Monday.

Let the Show Begin

CEDARS : MANDY'S ROOM:
Blake is rubbing it in about how the twins have brought her
closer to Ross. Mandy wants to share the hospital gossip she
just heard about the twins with two fathers.

CARRIAGE HOUSE:
Ross (wearing a fetching lime green polo and jeans) lets Phil
in. He is babbling about solving a problem with the drawbridge,
but finally informs Phil he has the transcripts of his hearing
(and very thin ones they are too!). Ross tells Phil he is pretty
sure there aren't any loopholes. Phil decides to tell Ross why
he wants them, since all the suspects know. He gives him a
recap of the letter and the suspect A. Spaulding. Ross astutely
observes: "Your whole family has that initial." He thinks that
one suspect can be eliminated.

DIRT:
Pan from discarded jeans and cash to Di smirking over the number
of Ben Franklin's it must have taken to charter a jet. Hart tells
Di he was late because of Petie's "illness." They go round about
the missed message. Di wonders if the new "wonderful father" would
like to call Bridge to ask about his son. Hart tells her that
Bridget knows where they are. Di thinks telling Bridget qualifies
Hart for the nuthouse.

BEDLAM:
The doctor has just ushered Bridget (posing as Mrs. Marler) into
see Roger. She leaves babbling about the value of family visits.
Bridget tells Rog she knows something he'd like to hear. Rog wonders
why he should trust her. Bridge informs him she has info about
his wife and son.

TWIRL LIGHTHOUSE
[The theme music has now been replaced with something my music
major daughter characterizes as bad 70's pop]

TWIN TALK:
Mandy asks Blake if she has ever heard of such a thing as 1 woman,
twins and 2 fathers. Blake thinks it's hospital gossip akin to
the joke about why the shark let the lawyer cross the pond [and
she never tells us the answer, darn]. Mandy tells Blake that two
nurses believed the story. Mandy characterizes it as a "sticky
situation--how loose can you get?" Blake thinks she should know,
but Mandy claims her girls took precautions. She says the nurse
swore up and down that she'd seen a lab report and it was a local
woman. She'd like to be a fly on the wall at that woman's house.
Blake: "You're just going to have to settle with being a bug
around here." Rick enters, calling Mandy a naughty princess for
cutting out on her GI series. Noticing Blake, he asks what is
going on here. Mandy coos that they have been discussing twins,
fortunately for Blake leaving off "with 2 fathers."

DIRT TURNS PINK:
Di gets all worked up about Bridget knowing where they are. Hart
thinks it's no big deal, but Di is convinced the cops are on the
way. Hart is oblivious, and observes that Di's face turns an
incredible shade of pink when she's mad. He tells her that Jet
already knew where they were, since she followed them to the farm.
Di wonders if she heard them making love, but Hart doesn't know.
He is sure that Bridget is his friend.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH DODGER:
Roger starts moving in on Jet. She tells him to take a deep
breath. He is ranting about his deceitful wife and son, how he
is as sane as she is, etc. If she has dirt on DIRT she should
spit it out. Finally he yells that if she has info he can take
to the judge she should spill. On second thought, forget the
judge. He is going to kill both of them with his bare hands.
Bridget looks frightened, and is unable to get in a word edgewise.

LAKELAND COUNTRY CLUB:
Alex is boozing it up. Hawk (wearing a fetching pink polo and
toting a plastic bin) tells her the stuff kills faster than it
cures. Alex threatens to cut off his hand, so Hawk offers to
bring Queenie the bottle. Hawk figures it must be the usual
Spaulding bloodletting that has her upset. Alex finally notices
that Hawk is working and he claims to be "the best busman this
side of the Mississippi." Al wonders if Buzz has wised up, and
Hawk complains about her family of "thieves and murderers like
your brother and that wire-haired niece of yours that dang near
killed my grandbaby Shayne." Alex is concerned about Shayne,
tries to defend Alan, and is happy to learn Shayne will be home
soon. Alex follows Hawk to the outdoor bar, and tells Hawk she
can't be all bad since Buzz liked her. Hawk mutters, "God help
me, so did I." He offers to lend an ear about her problems with
her family--good, bad or disfundamental." Alex corrects him
with "dysfunctional." Alex tells Hawk about Phillip's suspicions.

TAKE AN A OFF THE LIST:
Ross thinks Alexandra should be taken off the list since she
put her money and reputation on the line to try and get Phil
a lighter sentence. She ordered Ross to keep it secret and he
had to do fancy tapdancing to keep her out of jail when she
tried to bribe the judge. Ross tells him that Alex was devastated
when he left, and he can guarantee she isn't the person he's
looking for. Phillip remarks with one down, it's now either
AM, Alan or Amanda.

CUT TO MANDY:
Rick tells Mandy he is too busy for gossip and as a very sick
girl, many probing tests await her. Blake pipes up about what a
pain the GI series is--the nasty, putrid stuff they make you
drink. Rick wants to see if her pipes are squeaky clean, and he
also plans a glucose tolerance test, and more blood tests, and
a much more restricted diet [Go Rick!]. Mandy thinks she's being
starved as it is, and when Blake makes a crack about her weight,
Mandy reciprocates. Rick jumps in to defend Blake since she is
carrying twins. He tells Mandy he hasn't forgotten what she
tried to do to Bloss, and next time she'll have to answer to
him. Mandy thinks they are awfully chummy, and they exchange
glances.

HALFTIME

WHERE'S YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR:
Mandy claims she was just kidding. She wonders what's happened
to Dr. Bauer's famous bedside manner and gives him a wink. Dr.
P. says it is reserved for those who are really sick, and she
doesn't qualify yet. Mandy says she might have a terrible rare
disease. Rick says it will show up on the tests, and if it
doesn't he will release her in time for her appointment with
the IRS. With that, he ushers Blake out the door. Rick starts
sputtering outside the door, wondering if Mandy knows about
their one-night stand. Inside, Mandy flashes back to the convo
she had with Dinah right after she had walked in on them on the
morning after.

JET HATES ME, THIS I KNOW:
Di tries to convince DuHart that Jet hates her, that she loves
him and is jealous. Hart denies all, and says they are just
friends. Di wonders if she cares because she is platonically
fond of him. Hart claims it is just because he is Petie's
father. Hart insists he would never do anything to put Di in
danger.

I'LL BE GOING HOME NOW:
Back in bedlam, Rog leans way into Jet's personal space and
rants about putting his wife and son out of commission. Jet
says she'll be going home now and inches toward the door.
Roger grabs her by the neck and yells at her to shut up or
he will wring it out of her.

BEDLAM REVISITED:
Rog screams at Jet to tell him what she knows. A husky orderly
enters and tries to pull the Dodger off. The female doctor enters
and wants to know if Jet is ok. Jet says Rog is crazy. The
orderly has him pinned to the bed. Rog is ranting about how
Jet is in on it and was sent here by them. The doctor wonders
if Jet said anything to set him off. Jet claims they were just
chatting, and Rog mutters it's a lie, she came to tell him
something. The doctor tells Rog to calm down, or they will
have to sedate him. Jet says Rog lunged at her for no apparent
reason. She leaves, with Rog telling her she won't get away
with this. Bridget looks through the window, while the doctor
gives Rog a hypo.

IF NOT YOU, WHO?:
Alex says that Phillip suspects them all equally. Hawk wonders
"If not you, who? Big Al, AM, the female grizzly bear?" Alex
says she truly doesn't know. Hawk thinks she has a big choice;
a rattler in a pigpen. Alex would like it to be Mandy, but
Hawk points out she was busy lining up tricks in Malibu, and
didn't come home to claim a spot at Spaulding. Hawk offers to
help Alex make Phil think it was Amanda. Alex thinks the IRS
may do her dirty work.

ROSS AND PHIL CHAT ON:
Phil is very happy it wasn't Aunt Alex. Ross wonders what Phil
will do when he finds out who it was. Phil claims he hasn't
thought that far ahead. Ross thinks it might totally tear the
family apart, and he should be careful how he pursues it. He
could lose a lot. He asks what Beth thinks, and Phil dodges
saying she'll understand, she has to. What he does will depend
on who it is. Phil inquires about Blake, and says he wants them
both to be happy.

ANOTHER INDISCRETE CHAT AT CEDARS:
Rick and Blake are discussing what Mandy knows. Blake thinks
she is a sneaky evil witch who has her ways of finding out.
Mandy is trying to figure out what they are talking about, but
unfortunately she doesn't read lips. Rick thinks Mandy isn't
that bright--she is an ex-madame on her way to jail. Rick sends
Blake home to Ross, cooing over the happiness that her identical
twins will bring them. Mandy tells herself that Di was right,
there is something between them, and she is going to find out
what.

BLOSS:
Blake comes home and smooches with Ross. He calls the boys
Champ and Sport, and they decide they need more than dog
names. Blake fibs about why she's late saying Dr. Sedwick was
busy. Ross has set up a snack, new book, CDs to put her to
sleep--and other ways too if she's interested. He gives her
a massage, complimenting her on her beautiful knees. He asks
her if something happened today. Blake tells him she ran into
Mandy who is complaining of chest pains. Ross thinks when the
IRS is done, she'll have pains lower down. Blake rubs Ross'
back while he tells her about Phil's visit. Blake wishes he
would go back to Arizona. Ross says he has plenty to do in
Springfield to keep him busy.

MANSION:
A messenger gives Alex a package for Mandy from the IRS. Phillip
comes in, and Alex wonders if he is back to stay. Phil doesn't
think so because of Alan's ultimatum: his way or the highway.
He gives her a big bear hug and tells her she is off the list.
She is confused, and he tells her there is new information. Ross
has told him about what she did with the judge and that she almost
went to jail for him. Alex says she never wanted him to know; she
was so ashamed that she let him down. Phil says," Aunt Alex,
I'm the one that's ashamed for having ever doubted you. Thank
you for trying." He says there are so many thoughts going through
his head, but mostly he is relieved because he didn't want it to
be her. He asks her forgiveness, and Alex says he was only protecting
his flank, Spaulding style--she and Alan were trained in their cribs.
Phillip laments that they can't trust or love one another. Alex
blames power and money. She prayed everyday that Phillip would return.
She asks Phillip to move back in; after all, Alan let Mandy in
over her objections. As long as she is alive [don't let that be
foreshadowing] Phil is welcome in this house. "Darling, I love
you, I always have, I always will." They share a very tender and
moving embrace.

BOARDING HOUSE:
Jet returns slamming the door muttering about getting Hart away
from Dinah. She must think; she almost got Hart killed today.
She has to make him realize Di is using him. "Why doesn't he
see I'm the one for him. He just has to see it, that's all."

CUT TO PHONE : DIRT'S ROOM:
Di thinks the phone will ring and it will be Jet with a lame
excuse about Petie. Hart declares he's had enough; Jet is off
limits. Otherwise he will call her up and invite her down so
they can all have a fun time together. He distracts Di with
a smooch which progresses in ways this reviewer wants to FF
over. Cut to Hart carrying Di off for a warm shower.

BEDLAM:
Rog is back in restraints, muttering about how they won't get
away with this. "Nobody does to Rogerthorpe. Nobody."

SPECIAL DELIVERY:
Rick enters bearing a package for Mandy. A guy from the IRS
heard Mandy was sick and wanted her to have a personal copy of
the papers for tomorrow's "hanging, I mean hearing." Rick
informs her a new doc will be doing her spinal tap and not to
worry it's no worse than a very bad bug bite. He exits.
Mandy opens the package, and sees that they have Misty's files--
she is right on about the numbers. "Thank goodness Phillip moved
out of the house. He can never see these."

CUT TO PHILLIP: AT THE MANSE:
Alex tells Phil she doesn't want him to leave until he is good
and ready. She owns half the house, and they can do what Alan
did about Mandy. Alex vows she can take care of Alan; Phil thinks
she's the only one who can. Alex goes up to bed, and says her
mood has gone from exhausted to euphoric. She tells Phil she was
proud of one Spaulding today--him. Phil goes off to make
a call, but is distracted by the missive from the IRS. He notes
Mandy had a thriving business, and a hell of a client list.
As Phil announces a significant name, Neil Everest, we Freeze Frame
on his face.
