RealFriday Update, July 26, 1996

Cedar's Emergency Room
Rick comes in muttering, (at first, Annie thinks it's about her) about
Amanda pulling rank to get into the hospital. Annie detonates and suggests
kicking Amanda out. Rick turns to concern, thinking Annie is really upset
over Shane, but Annie says it's not about Shane. Rick wants to know what is
eating at Annie. Conveniently, over Annie's shoulder, we see Reva at the
nurse's station.

Ross and Blake's house.
Bridgette approaches the front door. Blake comes into the living sing a
song about how she's the human shelf while carrying a bowl of flowers on her
tummy (and who among you thought Blake wouldn't make a good mommy?). Just
as Blake gets to work, Bridgette knocks. Blake answers, wondering if it's
about Petey. Bridgette asks if Blake loves Hart. Blake does, and Bridgette
informs Blake that she needs to help him.

Mental Institution, Roger's Room (right next to Brent's room, I'm sure)
Female Doctor (gee, no name yet) kindly gets Roger to take his pill. Once
she's left the room, Roger takes the pill out of his mouth and hides in a
hole in his mattress, where those plastic handles connect to the mattress
itself. He begins wondering how Hart and Dinah convinced him and everyone
else he was insane

Cayman Island (in big bold letters, just in case you happen to think palm
trees grow in Springfield)
Hart approaches the front desk, asking for Mrs. Thorpe. The Desk Clerk
tells him that she checked out, about 20 minutes ago. Hart threatens the
Desk Clerk to find someone who knows where she is or he'll put the Desk
Clerk in the hospital. In true Customer Service tradition, the Deskman
leads Hart into the Managers Office. Just as he is out of sight, Dinah
appears with her bags. The Porter comments that she is alone. Dinah calls
Hart a "two-timing jerk" and wishes him straight to hell. She orders the
Porter to get her a taxi.

OPENING CREDITS

Roger's Room
Roger figures out Hart and Dinah's plan--the shooting, the gun; but he can't
figure out how Hart stayed under the earth so long.

Ross and Blake's
Blake wants to know if Hart's in trouble. Bridgette doesn't want to make
trouble, but blabs about Hart going to be with Dinah in the Cayman Island,
and she's concerned about the Judge's threat (you know, if he found out that
they set up Roger, Hart and Dinah would go to prison). Blake doesn't see a
problem, as long as no one rats them out to the Judge. Blake looks
suspiciously at Bridgette, "Unless someone's out to deliberately hurt them."

Cayman Island
The Porter informs Dinah that there has been a delay with her taxi. Dinah
orders the Porter to find her a way to get off the island. The Porter tells
her to relax while he sees what he can do. Dinah wanders off just as Hart
comes out of the Managers Office. Hart is upset that the Manager wasn't
much help.
LINE OF THE DAY
The Desk Clerk: "She would sell her mother, and give change back from a ten."
The Clerk suggest checking with the Porter. Hart is getting upset, and
wants a phone. As he moves into the phone booth, Dinah comes back into the
lobby and sits with her drink. Hart slams the phone down (please don't ask
me why) and goes and sits behind Dinah, with a large plant arrangement
separating them. Suddenly, the two seem to sense each other (gack).

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Emergency Room
Annie blames her edginess on her lack of sleep, due to worrying about Shane.
Rick thinks the fact that Josh and Reva being together during the Shane
crisis is what is really bothering Annie. Reva enters the Room, asking to
speak with Annie alone. Rick snaps his rubber gloves and says, "I got to go
see a patient. Can't be too thorough." (Look out Amanda!) Reva asks for
Annie help, and Annie says that Shane's going to be fine. Reva corrects her
and says it's not about Shane, but about Joshua.

Amanda's Room at Ceders
Amanda looks around and lets out a sigh of boredom. As soon as there is a
noise at the door, Amanda fakes sleep. Suddenly she is hit with a bouquet
of flowers and Aunt Alex is standing over her bed. Alex apologizes for not
being there when the IRS men handle Amanda the bill. Amanda begs mercy from
Alex as she may be dying. Alex doesn't think she could be that lucky.
Amanda wants Alex to leave her alone. Alex reminds her that she'll be alone
soon enough, in jail! Alex extends her offer to purchase all of Amanda's
stock in Spaulding.

Ross and Blake's
Blake wants to know who hates Hart and Dinah enough to tell the Judge.
Bridgette names Roger, saying he could have spies following them. Blake
agrees that Roger vowed to get even with anyone who helped but him away, and
that Leo would do anything for a fat retainer (yeah, Leo!). Blake thinks
Hart is a big boy, and she needs to focus on her babies. Bridgette counters
with Dinah is going to ruin Hart's life. Blake hopes it doesn't come to
that. Blake cuts Bridgette off with a check up the hospital. Bridgette
wants to use the phone, and Blake asks her to lock up when done. Bridgette
calls the International Operator.

Cayman Island
Dinah gets up and walks around the opposite direction of the direction Hart
is moving to look for her, and the Porter informs her the taxi is on the
way. Hart finally catches up to her and she turns and smiles at him.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Cayman Island
Dinah and Hart still smile at each other, and Dinah moves closer for a kiss.
Just as their lips are about to meet, Dinah slugs him in the stomach. After
doubling over and grunting, Hart wants to know why she did that. Dinah says
the deal is over, she got the money, so she's leaving. Hart says no one
treats him like dirt (LOL!), and picks Dinah up over his shoulder and
carries her off to get the key from the Desk Clerk for her room. The Clerk
hands it over, and Hart carries a screaming, kicking Dinah off to her room.

Amanda's Room
Alex is patiently waiting for Amanda's answer. Amanda says she's rather die
than give into Alex. Alex doesn't understand why Amanda wants to be a part
of the family so much, yet does everything she can to destroy it. Amanda
says that it's Alex's fault for digging into her past. Alex says if she had
been a meter maid instead of a madam, then nothing would have happened!
Amanda accuses Alex of only looking for herself. Alex agrees; she may have a
lot of money, but without her "good" Spaulding name, she has nothing. And
she wants it back, by buying out Amanda. Amanda says the Spaulding name was
long since tarnished by others in the family and orders Alex to get out.
Alex says that tomorrow is going to be the longest, loneliest days for
Amanda. Amanda says she's too sick to attend the hearings. Amanda throws
the flowers after Alex as she slams the door on her way out. Amanda calls
Stormy and asks for help, but gets hung up upon. Rick comes in with two
other nurses in full scrubs for a "barium break." Amanda refuses to drink
what Rick is holding, and Rick says "who said anything about drinking?" The
nurses' chime "Bottom's up, Ms. Spaulding!" Amanda screams!

Emergency Room
Reva wants Annie to help Josh to leave Shane's side; he hasn't had a break.
Annie says that Josh should do what he wants. She tells Reva the Josh is a
very loving father and that Reva shouldn't try to change him. Reva looks
confused and says that isn't what she's trying to do. Annie tells Reva that
she should know that if someone tries to order Josh around, he'll just "dig
his heals in." Reva thanks Annie for reminding her. Reva leaves (so much
for that friendship. Huh?) Annie opens the medicine cabinet and frantically
searches for her pills. When she doesn't find them, she bolts out the door.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Emergency Waiting Room
Annie apologizes for interrupting Dr. Sloan's coffee break. Annie says she
has a migraine, and wants a prescription. Dr. Sloan wants to check her
records, but Annie tries to stall her. Dr. Sloan sees that another Doctor
has already given her a prescription, and wants to know what's going on.

Roger's Room
In a darkened room, Roger has laid pillows and blankets and what-not
underneath a sheet. He's still wondering how Hart survived being buried
alive. He suddenly pulls the sheet back and climbs into bed. He remembers
Dinah covering Hart's face with the jacket--air pockets? Breathing tub? It
makes Roger upset that he can't figure it out. But decides it doesn't
matter, Roger goes on to figure out that Dinah kept Roger from feeling the
pulse, and checking his breathing. He's upset that Hart and Dinah banked on
him being too upset at shooting his own son to see the holes in their plan.
The Doctor is watching through the windows in the door, taking pity on Roger.

Blake and Ross
Bridgette wants to place a call to the Cayman Island's Grand Hotel.

Dinah's Room, Cayman Island
Dinah demands to be let down, and Hart drops her on the bed. She's mad
because she thought he wasn't coming. Hart says he left a message. Dinah
screams that she didn't get it. Hart wants to know who's fault is that? In
the lobby, The Desk Clerk answers the phone. It's Bridgette and she wants
Mrs. Thorpe's Room. Back in Dinah's Room, the phone rings. Hart answers
it, saying, "Look, I told you, I did not want to be disturbed," and slams
the receiver back into the set without waiting for a word from the other end
of the line. Back at Blake and Ross', a hurt Bridgette hangs up the phone
and leaves. Back in Dinah's Room, Hart is chasing Dinah around the room,
trying to explain, but she's not listening. Hart tells Dinah that he didn't
come to fight with her, but to do this--and lays a big, ol's hot and heavy
kiss on her. Dinah pulls away, looks at him, and pulls him back for another
kiss.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Cedar's
Amanda is walking through the hallway rather funny, muttering about her
humiliation. She over hears Rick say that it's time for more of Ms.
Spaulding's GI series, and Amanda bolts. The nurses come into the hallway,
looking for Amanda and gossiping. One nurse spills that there is a patient
at Cedar's who's having twins by two different fathers (of course, Amanda is
hiding, but not out of ear-shot). Rick comes in a shoes the nurses to find
Ms. Spaulding. The nurses claim to be afraid after what Amanda did to one
of the orderlies, and Rick vows to protect them from the "demon seed."
Amanda runs to her room, calling father for help. Blake walks by, and then
backs up to see if that's really Amanda.
Blake: "What's wrong, Amanda. A touch of foot-n-mouth disease?"

Nurse's Station, Cedar's
Annie states that her regular doctor, Dr. Stein, is on vacation, and that's
why she went to Dr. Sloan. Dr. Sloan thinks Dr. Stein gave Annie a generous
prescription. Annie claims to have lost them while saving Shane. Dr. Sloan
wants to consult with Dr. Stein, because the drug can be so addictive.
Annie admits to being desperate, and Dr. Sloan gives her a prescription for
5 more pills. Rick comes in and make Annie jump.

Dinah's Room
To Peter Gaberial's, "In Your Eyes," Dinah and Hart fling the bedding from
the bed and make mad, passionate love (I just want to know how they stripped
that fast.).

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Amanda's Room
Amanda climbs back into bed, claiming to be sick. Blake ask if Amanda's in
for cosmetic surgery, saying it's a pity she waited so long since there's so
much to do. Amanda thanks her and tells her not to come again. Blake
excuse herself for a prenatal visit, and Amanda clicks something in her
head, but goes on about stretch marks and the pain of childbirth. Blake
goes on about how the twins are only going to help her and Ross' perfect
marriage. Amanda fades back to the nurse's conversation.

Nurse's Station
Annie folds the prescription and hides it in her pocket from Rick, claiming
to be talking to Dr. Sloan about her upcoming physical, and goes onto to
defend herself, when Rick jumps in, apologizing, claiming Amanda's AWAL is
getting on his nerves. Rick tells Annie to get some rest. Annie leaves and
Reva arrives, glad to bump into Rick. Reva wants to know what she has done
recently to make Annie upset with her. Reva goes on to say that one minute,
everything is fine between them, and then the next, something is just not
right. Rick looks concerned.

Cedar's Pharmacy
Annie changes the 5 to a 50 on the prescription, muttering, "just this once,
I swear."

Dinah's Room
Dinah lays some 50 dollar bills on Hart, and the two coo over each other.
Dinah tells of her plans for the money, setting up a trust fund in Henry's
name. Hart congratulates her on putting Roger away, making sure he can
never hurt someone again. They kiss on a bed covered in money.

Roger's Room
Morning, Roger realizes that his main mistake was underestimating Dinah, and
that he won't make that mistake again. He vows to get her. The Doctor
announces that he has company, his daughter. But Bridgette shows up,
stopping Roger from saying anything with "news that could change his life."

FREEZE FRAME ON ROGER'S FACE, CONCERNED, BUT INTERESTED.
