Guiding Light Update
  Friday, May 16
       by Vivian

Vanessa ponders her legs and tries to get into the wheelchair herself.
She is successful, and tells herself that Michael was right, she can do
anything she sets her mind to. In a very positive mood, she sends a
message to Robert as Tess, asking him to meet her in the poetry room.
Meanwhile, Bill receives phone instructions for downlading a file
(didnt you just know he couldnt hack his way out of a paper bag?) and
when he hangs up, finds there is mail. When he reads Tessas message he
decides to check out the poetry room. Bill is confused when Tess thinks
hes Robert, and they conclude that she must have emailed the wrong
address. They start a conversation and, just as Bill is about to give
his name, stepdad walks in. Matt is very angry that Bill is talking to
Tess.

Reva in white paces outside the courtroom, then stands inside the
doorway to the room. The camera pans the length of the room, up to the
witness box. Theres an ominous feeling in the air. Reva turns to find
that Abby and Griffin are standing behind her, figuratively and
literally. They give Reva a little pep talk. Abby plans to testify for
her friend, and the others who will help Reva have been phoned by
Griff. Griffin is concerned that the most important witness hasnt
shown up yet, but Reva is sure that Alan will come through for her.
Griffin doesnt have much faith in Alan, and Reva tries to sound
hopeful, but we are talking about Alan Spauling after all. Josh and
Annie arrive, with Annie in a black dress, no doubt to play up her
mournful state. Of course Reva and Annies attire could be meant to
signify good and evil, or just fashion faux pas. Annie grasps Joshs
hand and leads him down the hallway, away from her nemesis. Griff stops
Reva from either making a fool of herself or throttling Annie. He tells
her to speak to Annie through him from now on, but Reva thinks hes too
much of a gentleman to repeat what she has to say. Annie and Josh enter
the courtroom and Annie asks Josh to keep Reva away from her. He
promises to do so. Holly and Fletcher arrive and Reva thanks Holly for
the article she printed. Holly tells her that she and Fletch would like
to do a series of articles profiling her. Reva recalls the time
Fletcher did a series on her. For those who werent watching then, Reva
had tried to kill herself several years ago by jumping off a bridge.
Fletcher interviewed her anonymously and printed a series of articles
about her. Alan is next in the receiving line and Reva begs him not to
let her down. Annie looks on in interest.

Bill wants to know why it is a big deal is that he answered Matts
email, while Tess calls to Robert in the background. Matt isnt angry
now that hes in front of the computer instead of Bill, and tells Bill
that he uses the on screen name to protect himself from crazies. Hes
happy when Bill leaves, and explains to Tess that his stepson was
talking to her. Tess reveals that she has 3 children, and Robertt
tells her about the blind date that wasnt. Shes flattered that he
forgot about the date because he was busy talking to her. Robert says
that his stepdaughter called her the babe in a box," which Tess finds
amusing.

Michelle is in a rush to go to school. Philip and Rick are in suits,
ready to go to the hearing, but looking more like theyll be attending a
funeral. Philip offers his opinion that, from what he saw, Reva pushed
Annie, but admits that only two people really know what happened. He
wishes the two women both werent his friends. The suits leave and Bill
arrives with a printout for Michelle. One of the two people on the list
has her moms heart.

Reva asks Alan to sit in the front of the room as he will be called to
testifiy early on in the hearing. Alan somberly wishes Reva good luck
and moves on. Annie intercepts him to say hello and try to gauge her
friends mood, but Alan doesnt say much and goes inside. Annies next
victim is Blake, and she reminds Blake that Reva pushed her, in case she
has forgotten. It looks as though Blake and Alan could go either way
with their testimony, from the expressions on their faces. Roger and
Amanda arrive, with Amanda in a severe black pinstripe suit and red
blouse. She complains that more people show up for Revas hearing than
her own parties. Roger says its because they know that Reva will make
a spectacle of herself. Philip wanders over and wants to speak to
Amanda. Holly immediately says hello to Roger, and they briefly
discuss the upcoming testimonies. Amanda comes back and is reassured by
Roger that she didnt interrupt him and his ex. Anything he and Holly
talk about can be done so in front of her. Amanda seems relieved.
Everyone now goes into the courtroom, and Reva manages to get a long
look in at Joshua, and he at her. Blake says hello to her hubby. Ross
isnt happy about having to try this case. Blake would like to talk to
Ross about last night, and he says they can see each other later. The
judge arrves, and tells everyone that this hearing is to determine if
there is enough evidence to go to trial. Ross calls Annie to the
stand. She is smiling an awful lot for someone who just had a
miscarriage. Ross asks her who pushed her down the stairs, and Annie
points to Reva. Ross asks Annie about the argument she and Reva had on
the landing. She tells her side of the story, that when Reva heard that
Annie wasnt going to give Josh a divorce, she became angry and pushed
her. Reva is incredulous, and looks at Josh for support. Griffin
refuses to cross-examine and Annie steps down. Josh is next on the
stand.

Michelle explains to Bill how important it is to find the person that
has her moms heart. She starts to call the first person on the list,
Harry Mendel, then asks Bill to do the deed for her. He does, and finds
out that Harry died four years earlier.

Robert tells Tess that he hasnt been out with woman much since his
wife died. Tess says she doesnt want to date anyone yet. This form of
communication is more comfortable than being at dinner, trying to be
clever. Robert asks for a photo, and Tess says she has no photos of
herself. So he asks her to describe herself in detail. He doesnt ask
what shes wearing. After all, this is the poetry room.

Michelle is discouraged about the results of the phone call. She
thinks that if someone did receive the heart and is well, that maybe her
mothers death had some meaning. The next name on the list is Cindy
Richardson. Michelle calls, and finds out from the babysitter that
Cindy is a court reporter. They decide to make a visit to the
courthouse.

Ross asks Josh about his house being vandalized by Reva. Josh says he
wasnt home at the time. As far as the argument on the landing goes,
Josh says that Reva was upset, but doesnt corroborate anyone elses
statements. Griffin asks if Josh saw Reva push Annie, and he says no.
Reva looks on with love in her eyes. Ross questions Blake next. She is
wearing a white suit, with a little black on the collar, a basically
good person with a few black marks against her. Blake says she was
unaware of any tension between Annie and Reva, and was concentrating on
Ross at the time. When she looked toward the loud voices, she saw Annie
fall. Amanda did notice the tension, but also didnt see anything else
until the fall occurred. Abby saw Annie and Reva on the stairs, and
admits that they seemed to be arguing. When asked if she saw Reva push
Annie, she says it looked like that, and is interruped by Ross before
going any further. Roger says basically the same things as the others,
throwing in a comment that he wasnt surprised it happened. Philip
also testifies that he saw the fall, and Dr. Rick talks about Annie
losing the baby. Outside the room, Roger strikes up a conversation with
a reporter from the Enquisiter. He compliments her on the story about
Ross, then asks where she purchased her earrings. She says she did a
favor for a friend and was paid with the earrings. The judge calls the
proceedings to order after a break. Alan is called to testify next.
Reva looks hopeful, Annie looks as though shes going to go through the
ceiling.

Robert asks Tess questions about how she looks. She kids around with
him until he finally asks to meet her face to face. Then she turns
serious.

Michelle and Bill arrive at the courthouse and ask about Cindy. They
are directed to the room where Reva is having her hearing and stare at
the court reporter. Griffin asks about the time Reva came to the Lewis
house, accusing Alan and Annie of planting evidence to point Reva in a
certain direction concerning her sister. Alan thinks back to another
conversation, in which Annie she wished that Josh was more like him. He
replies that he doesnt recall the conversation with Reva. Reva looks
disgusted and Annie looks relieved.
