Guiding Light Update
 Friday, May 9

At the courthouse, the press mobs Ross as he prepares to take the oath of
office. He stops chatting with the reporters when he sees Blake standing at
the door, looking on wistfully. He asks for the judges indulgence and,
when she apologizes for being there, tells her not to go just yet.

Residents of the diner are much quieter, as Billy plays short order cook
to Dr. Rick, who used to kill most of his patients, but now cant even keep
track of the dead ones. Reva enters, worn out from her harrowing night,
and is in no mood for righteous Rick. He thinks that she tracked him down
to talk about Annie again, but she tells him that his ego is bigger than
his mouth (sometimes, maybe). She wants to know why hes such a fan of his
ex-wife after all she put him through. Hes upset that he lost the baby,
and Reva counters that Annie could have used her old hospital contacts to
get rid of it. She wonders if Rick was the one who helped. He looks
shocked and says shes out of line. Maybe Reva remembers how good Dr. Rick
is at removing bodies from the Cedars morgue.

Josh has taken the day off to take care of Annie. She is resting on the
couch and wants him to stay with her. He no longer looks like the Josh who
believes everything his wife says. He wants to hire outside help if she
needs it, but of course Annie wants him there, not strangers. She goes on
and on about losing the baby and how it was Revas fault. She brings up
her sobriety and how tentative it is. Josh is looking like hes not even
there, or maybe hes really hearing her for the first time. Annie declares
that he still owes her.

Reva doesnt like the way Rick looked at her when she walked in. Hell
just have to get in line to apologize when the truth comes out. Whenever
Rick sees her, he sees trouble. Reva tries again to make him understand
that shes not lying, but Rick stomps out. Billy is there to comfort her
in his little white apron. He believes in her, but it doesnt do Reva
much good if she cant prove her innocence.

Ross is looking considerably more forgiving these days, which is a
blessing because when hes cold, hes like dry ice. He shocks poor Blake
when he says hed like her to hold the bible when he takes his oath of
office. She is delighted and they hold hands on the way. Blake is
speechless when she meets the judge, but recovers when he hands her the
bible. In moments Ross is sworn in, and the reporters immediately ask
about the scandal in his life. Ross gracefully replies that he will answer
question relating to his appointment only. He shoos them off and speaks
to Blake. She thanks him for allowing her to be part of the ceremony so
that the boys will have the photos to commemorate the moment. She gets a
little carried away and gives him a big, long kiss. Ross does not beat her
off with sticks.

At Cedars, Michelle brings Bill to an office so that he can break into the
hospital computer system. He must have been away at hackers school all
this time. They each make equally silly statements. When Bill warns
Michelle that if they break into the computer, it is a federal offense,
Michelle replies only if we get caught. Then Bill says that he doesnt
want her to get into trouble, as if he wasnt in the room on the keyboard.
Duh! Michelle is optimistic about finding the heart recipient, an
thinks her mom would approve.

Reva rants on to Billy as they share a booth. Shes upset that no one
believes her, and Billy assures her that he does. Joshua doesnt believe
her, and thats what matters to Reva. The third bright statement of the
day comes from Billy when he stated that Josh is a shrewd judge of
character. Reva saw the doubt in Joshs eyes and says it was like a knife
cutting out her heart. Please, not another heart. Through all the years
Reva thought that Josh knew her and would stand by her. Billy tries to
help, but Reva jumps up in tears and runs out.

Annie realizes her tactical error and apologizes to Josh for what she
said. He is pacing around in a fog. Annie is a quick thinker and comes
up with a story about the conversation on the landing. She claims that she
told Reva that she wasnt going to give Josh a divorce after all. This is
what pushed Reva over the edge (sorry for the pun) and caused her to react
in violence. Josh wonders why Annie didnt tell him that she changed her
mind, and Annie says she didnt have time to tell him. In a desperate
attempt for sympathy, she says that some of the accident was her fault
because of what she said to Reva. Josh has something on his mind. Why
would Reva hurt Annie if she thought that Annie was her sister? Reva feels
that family is all-important and wouldnt hurt a relative. Its obvious
that Josh doesnt believe a word Annie says anymore, and suddenly remembers
that he has to be someplace else. He leaves and Annie is confused.

Blake apologizes for kissing her husband, and Ross says its okay, he
wanted her to be there. The press storms in with Frank in the lead. The
reporters want to know about Annies case and if Reva will be charged.
Ross is noncommital.

Rick tells Abby that Michelle cant find out about where her mothers
heart resides because it would break the confidentiality that goes along
with the program. He is touched by Abbys explanation of Michelles
emotional state, and leaves a brotherly message on the answering machine at
home. Elsewhere in Cedars, Bill and Michelle reminisce as Bill pounds the
keys. He cant get in, then Michelle suddenly realizes that she knows
Ricks password. Michelle has, unfortunately, not been the recipient of a
brain transplant. They are estatic when the password works and they are
into the system. Bill finds the donor program and asks Michelle for the
date of Mos death. He then starts to check the information. At the same
time, Rick wants Abby to help her with some files (right). He tries to log
on and the system tells him that he is already logged on. Abby is able to
tell him which computer is in use, and they rush to bring justice to the
criminals.

Annie is surprised to find her old friend Blake at her door. Blake tells
her its time to come clean, that Ross will not be made a fool of by
prosecuting Reva for no reason. Annie suddenly develops a limp and
clutches her plumbing. Blake isnt affected when Annie wonders how she can
accuse her when her life is falling apart. Blake remembers how much
consideration Annie had for her when she was barely out of a coma. She
goes on to express all her doubts about Annies honest nature, from Reva
being her sister, to the artificial insemination. Blake is very determined
to let the truth out.

Reva is at home and feeling trapped. She doesnt understand why Josh
doesnt believe her. Her despair is ended when he arrives. At first Reva
doesnt want to hear anything he has to say, but he shouts that he believes
her. He believes her because he knows her better than he knows himself.
Reva is astounded and wants to know when Josh knew she was telling the
truth. The things Annie told him seemed to fit, but were too calculated.
He realizes that he doesnt know Annie at all, and begs Revas forgiveness.
 They kiss.

Annie tells Blake that she hasnt thought her plan through. If she tells
Ross the whole truth, how will he feel about her? Blake wants to do the
right thing, but Annie points out (as her good friend) that her marriage
will never have a chance when Ross realizes she bugged his phone and stole
his files. Annie calls Blake an accomplice, and compares Ross to Josh.
They are both very moral, and Ross will never accept that kind of betrayal.
Annie smells blood and goes in for the kill. Why take the cha
e of giving up her marriage to unburden herself? Besides, who will believe
her? If she tells Ross everything, does she think he will want her back?
These are the questions Annie hopes will keep her friend silent.

Michelle and Bill are busted. Rick and Abby come in and Rick wants to
know what they are doing. Michelle and Bill look very guilty.

Blake is starting to look doubtful as Annie tells her that its all her
choice. Just then, Ross comes by and is surprised to see his wife there.

Reva is entwined with Josh on the couch as they make out. Josh promises
that everything will be okay now as they declare their love. They are
interrupted by the intrepid Detective Cooper, who is wearing a suit and a
grim expression. He is there to arrest Reva with attempted murder of Annie
and the murder of her unborn child. Reva and Josh are shocked.
