comes in and demands answers. Buzz says they were just walking by and the
door was open; they wanted to make sure everything was o.k. - Frank doesn't
buy it.

BLIND LEADING THE BLIND: Michelle makes her way back to her room assisted by
another student. Once inside the other students inform Chelle that they are
going to have a therapy session. Dr. Dan gives Chelle an id bracelet and
the students joke about the bracelets; Chelle wants to know how they can
joke - they tell her they lost their sight, not their sense of humor.

SPAULDING MANSION: Over the phone, Beth reminds Mallet that he promised to
come to Springfield. Phillip watches from he hallway and listens on the
extension. Beth tells Mallet that Phillip and Harley are moving in together;
Mallet thinks maybe the whole thing is for the best and hangs up. Phillip
enters and says they need to have a talk. Beth goes to get a bottle of wine;
Phillip stops her saying the last thing he wants to do is have a glass of
wine with her.

SPAULDING STUDY: Annie comes in and starts complaining to Mr. Corte about
Nettie. Mr. Corte condescendingly agrees that good help is hard to find.
Annie doesn't notice and goes on some more. Mr. Corte says that Annie and
Alan have been generous to him, but subtly brings up that he's the *help*.
Annie catches this barb and steers back to the wedding plans. Annie thinks
balloons would be nice, and Mr. Corte is underwhelmed. Annie tells him not
to make her angry because it's something he doesn't want to see in this
lifetime.

APARTMENT HALLWAY: Reva steps off the elevator and finds Eddie Banks'
apartment and starts banging on the door. Eddie cracks the door and says he
did his time, but he doesn't know anything about Annie except where she's
buried and slams the door. Reva yells that Annie is still alive and bangs on
the door some more.

TWIRL *THIS IS GUIDING LIGHT - CHOSEN BY TV GUIDE AND SOAP OPERA DIGEST AS
THE BEST SOAP OF 1997*

Reva tells Eddie to believe her; Eddie thinks it's garbage because his Annie
died a long time ago. Reva insists again that Annie is alive, then pulls out
a newspaper clipping on Annie and slips it under the door. Eddie looks at
the article and opens the door. Eddie wants to know where Reva got the
article; she says she'll tell him everything as Eddie lets her in.

DINER: Jenna sits by the window; Harley joins her with real estate
listings. Jenna teases Harley about the size of the houses; they see one
that looks like Reva's old house and they both hope that Reva gets a good
break this year and manages to get Annie. Harley makes a crack about
ex-wives hanging around and Jenna turns the conversation to Beth. Harley
says that everything is over between Phillip and Beth, and if Beth hasn't
learned that by now she never will.

SPAULDING MANSION: Phillip shuts a door and quietly walks in saying he's
trying to poise himself to talk without shouting. Beth cluelessly asks why,
what's going on. Phillip asks Beth why she called Mallet. Beth lies about it
- Phillip says he heard her conversation on the extension. Beth can't
believe Phillip listened to her conversation and says it was none of his
business. Phillip yells that it's his business when Beth is talking about
him. Phillip wants to know what the hell Beth thinks she's doing. He goes on
that ever since she came back to town she's been causing trouble. Beth
backpeddles - Phillip yells at her not to lie to him. Beth says she called
Mallet because it was the right thing to do - Phillip is the love of her
life and she is his. Phillip says Beth *was* the love of his life. Beth
tries to explain that Harley and Mallet had the same thing they did -
Phillip reminds Beth that Harley and Mallet are divorced just like they are.
Beth thinks there are two great loves between the four of them - it's time
for a reconciliation. Phillip says that Beth just doesn't get it. Beth begs
Phillip not to be angry with her for loving him.

BAUER KITCHEN: Buzz admits that the situation doesn't look so good and Frank
agrees. Frank reminds Buzz that he heard them talking about breaking and
entering earlier at the diner. Behind them Jesse looks at the phone number
he found. Frank continues to scold Buzz and Jesse wonders if they can just
leave. Frank isn't going to drop it; Jesse admits that he wanted to find
information on Michelle. The other cop comes in saying he has to make a
report. Jesse and Buzz look at Frank; Frank says he'll handle it and sends
the cop away. Jesse says he owes Frank one - Frank tells them both to shut
up until they get back to the diner. They open the door to leave and find
Meta about to enter: "WHAT are you doing in my kitchen?"

Jesse and Meta sit at the table and he apologizes. Meta realizes that Jesse
was probably looking for information on Michelle and set off the alarm.
Jesse admits it. Meta says she understands; Jesse doesn't believe her. Meta
says she understands being young and in love. Jesse asks Meta to tell him
where Michelle is; Meta says that Rick and Ed didn't tell her anything,
which must mean that Michelle is adamant about not being found. Frank comes
back over and Meta shoos everyone out. Jesse asks Meta to tell Michelle that
he loves her if she calls.

BLTB: Michelle says she already got her tough love pep talk from Dr. Dan,
and once she makes a comittment she sticks to it. Dr. Dan applauds her and
says that's the kind of attitude he likes, and once Michelle actually
believes it, things will get even better. Dr. Dan asks the other students to
explain how they got to the school. The students explain with one admitting
he was in an accident a year earlier. Dr. Dan doesn't think it matters how
they lost their sight, but Chelle does. Chelle describes colors and other
things she remembers and how she'll have a different life. Another student
explains that you can feel colors even if you can't see them.

SPAULDING STUDY: Annie shows a dress to Mr. Corte - he obviously doesn't
like it but says it's up to Annie. Annie thinks it's kind of tacky and Mr.
Corte says they finally agree on something. Annie describes the first
wedding she ever went to, and how she thought a beautiful dress was magical
and would make your problems disappear. Annie says this is her last chance
to make any of her dreams come true; she wonders if Mr. Corte really thinks
she's such a witch. Mr. Corte stumbles; Annie says she does have a heart,
and she's sick of "holding the bag" but once she gets married that will
never happen again.

EDDIE'S APARTMENT: Eddie looks at newspaper article and can't believe it.
Reva asks him to explain why he thought Annie was dead. Eddie says there was
a goodbye note. Reva asks him to go back to the beginning. Eddie explains:
he was an orderly and Annie was a nurse; they got involved around the same
time that Annie's mother got sick and they needed money for an operation,
quickly. Reva interrupts - don't you mean Annie's *grandmother*? Eddie says
it was Annie's *mother*; anyway, he would have given her the money, but he
was supporting a wife and children that he just left. In order to get the
money Eddie helped Annie steal narcotics from the hospital and sell them.
Eddie and Annie were turned in, but Annie made bail. While Eddie was still
in jail, Annie freaked out and drove off a cliff. Reva is incredulous. Eddie
says he felt even worse when the cops gave him the suicide note. Eddie says
he's felt bad every day since because he couldn't save Annie. Reva says no
one can save Annie, and that Annie faked the whole thing and let Eddie take
the rap. Eddie still doesn't believe it - Annie wouldn't do that to him
because they had she loved him. Reva says Annie doesn't love people, she
destroys them and Eddie is the only one who can help.

HALFTIME

BLTB: Dr. Dan breaks the session. Chelle is reassured by another student to
hang in. The students leave and Dr. Dan says she was better than he thought
she would be. Dr. Dan says it was obvious that Chelle was talking about her
boyfriend. Chelle says Jesse isn't her boyfriend anymore. Dan wonders if
she still loves Jesse; Chelle says that isn't enough.

DINER: Frank leads Jesse and Buzz in saying he's madder than hell. Jesse
heads for the phone and Frank sits them all down. Jesse says he has to find
Chelle and Buzz defends Jesse - Franks quiets everyone. Frank tells them
they can't break the law; Eleni comes up and tells Frank that if Jesse is in
trouble over love, then maybe Frank needs to remember a few things. Jesse
slips out.

Harley has found the perfect house and shows it to Jenna. Jenna thinks it
looks perfect for a large family. Harley says they aren't at the marriage
stage, let alone family. Jenna teases about how happy Phillip and Harley are
and how great it would be to throw rice or bird seed at a wedding.

SPAULDING MANSION: Phillip reminds Beth that he begged her to give the
marriage another chance a year ago. Beth tries to apologize. Phillip says
that Beth only wants him back because he's moved on. Beth denies it saying
she loves him. Phillip doesn't believe it. Phillip says if Beth really loved
him, she would want him to be happy and not try to control his life. Phillip
yells that things are over and that he is in a couple with Harley; he goes
on that his relationship with Beth is over except for being Lizzie's parents
and that he *is* going to move in with Harley. Beth says that she knows,
because Harley told her. Beth says she'll move out as soon as she can;
Lizzie appears at the top of the stairs and asks where she'll be.

DINER: Jesse tries to rush another customer off the pay phone. Frank leads
Jesse into the kitchen and tells Jesse that he actually does like him,
trying to give Jesse some advice. Jesse ignores him and tries to walk away,
and Frank tells him to pay attention. Frank tells Jesse to stay away from
Buzz. Frank points out that it doesn't take a detective to think that there
might be another guy with Michelle. Jesse doesn't believe it for a second.

Harley steps away to call Phillip and tell him about the house she found.

SPAULDING MANSION: Lizzie sits between her parents, as Phillip explains that
she has nothing to worry about. Lizzie thinks they were fighting and wants
to know where she's going to live. Beth explains that Lizzie will be with
her, but Phillip won't be far away. Phillip assures Lizzie that they love
her; Lizzie reluctantly agrees. Phillip and Beth send Lizzie upstairs,
saying they'll be up in a few minutes. Lizzie runs toward the kitchen, not
up the stairs. Phillip is upset again - Beth blames him for listening to her
phone call. Phillip starts yelling again - he was going to make a call and
picked up the extension. Annie comes in asking what's going on - Phillip
tells her to butt out. Nettie comes down announcing a phone call for Phillip
- he tells her to take a message. Beth tries to go upstairs as Phillip stops
her saying they aren't finished. Meanwhile, Annie is showing Mr. Corte out
and wants to be reassured that her big day will be perfect, reminding him
that nothing is too big or too expensive. Mr. Corte says he got that idea -
Annie thinks he's making fun of her again. Mr. Corte (condescendingly) says
he never makes fun of people who sign his checks and walks off. Annie is
confused.

EDDIE'S APARTMENT: Reva explains about the newspaper article she brought.
She tells Eddie about the attempted murder charge that Annie set her up on,
and how Annie hurt her and her family and children. Eddie is incredulous -
Annie loves children. Reva says Annie isn't capable of loving children.
Eddie says he can't believe he felt guilty for all these years, and explains
that he hasn't seen his own children since he went to prison. Eddie says he
lost everything he cared about because of Annie. Reva says she can make sure
Annie knows what she cost Eddie if he tells her the truth and signs an
affidavit. Eddie says he'll sign whatever she wants; Reva starts out to get
papers; Eddie stops her at the door, saying there's still something Reva
doesn't know.

SPAULDING MANSION: Phillip tells Beth she's been spending too much time with
Annie; even if it's difficult for Beth, she'll have to learn to deal with
his relationship with Harley. Annie comes downstairs asking if Lizzie is
around. Beth says she's upstairs. Annie says she went to ask Lizzie to be
the flower girl and Lizzie wasn't there - she checked the other rooms too.
Phillip and Beth head upstairs calling Lizzie's name.

DINER: Harley is hanging up. Jenna wants to know what Phillip said. Harley
said Phillip couldn't come to the phone because he was involved in something
with Beth. Jenna thinks it's probably nothing; Harley says she just gets
irritated hearing Beth's name. Jenna sympathizes, but tells Harley not to
let it get to her.

Buzz asks if Jesse made the call. Jesse says he didn't and tells Buzz what
Frank said about another guy. Buzz brings the phone over and tells Jesse to
call.

BLTB: Chelle yawns, Dr. Dan tells her she'll be more tired at first becuase
her other senses are working overtime. Chelle says she isn't tired and wants
Dan to stay but she dozes off before he can shut the door. The phone rings
and Dan picks it up - it's Jesse.

Jesse finally asks to speak to Michelle - Dan says that she's sleeping.
Chelle wakes up and Dan says she has a call. Chelle asks who it is - and
Jesse overhears.

Jenna is leaving - Harley can't believe she's leaving her. Jenna teases
about what an awful thing it is to do; then reassures Harley that things are
getting better. Harley says she's can't help waiting for the other shoe to
drop; then she says that she feels ready to believe again and that she wants
it to work out so badly. Jenna says everything will be fine.

SPAULDING MANSION: Phillip wonders where Lizzie could be. Beth can't
believe they were so busy arguing that they didn't see Lizzie leave. Phillip
heads outside to look around and tells Beth to stay inside. Beth follows
Phillip and tells Annie to call the police. The phone rings - Annie picks up
and it's Reva. Annie tells Reva she doesn't have time; Reva says she has
something important to discuss when she stops by. Annie tells her not to
come over and Reva hangs up on her.

Reva thanks Eddie and exits saying because of him Annie will never be able
to hurt anyone again. Eddie locks the door behind Reva and sighs.
