Guiding Light Update for Wednesday, January 14, 1998
By Patricia K. Lambert

After hearing the news that if Vanessa carries the baby to term and has it
naturally she will die, Matt blows up. He and Van get in a fight. He
doesn't know
if he can stand the constant reminder, the baby, of Van's death. He can't
understand why she is doing this for him. He wants her to have a C-section,
but Van is adamant against it.

Dinah and Hart finish their argument in the middle of the bridal salon with
Hart telling Dinah he is no longer in love with her, and Cassie is the woman
in his life now. Dinah runs from the salon to Annie and tells Annie she is
ready to get even with Hart.

Annie and Alan meet with a fancy bridal consultant who tries to leave when
Annie begins talking about giant ice sculptures of her and Alan holding
hands, and letting doves go after the ceremony. The wedding consultant
would rather leave than plan the circus that Annie wants. Annie doesn't
want just big, she wants gaudy! He tries to leave and Annie throws a fit
and orders Alan to go after him. Alan offers the man a check so large that
his eyes almost pop out of his head.

Cassie and Reva head over to Harley's to see if Harley can find any dirt on
Annie to stop her from marrying Alan (when Annie and Alan marry it will give
them enough Lewis stock to sit on the board). After much persuasion, Philip
begins to remember some stuff that Annie had said while they were up at the
Bauer cabin when she was drying out. Annie kept saying something like, "I
have to stop letting other people take the fall for me," and mentioned the
name "Eddie Banks". So, Reva and Cassie look up all of the Eddie Banks in
the Chicago area, and call all 17. Of course, the last one did know someone
named Annie who was a nurse, but he is sad to report to Reva that she is
dead. Reva hangs up and tells Harley they are going to Chicago to meet with
Mr. Banks.

THE END!
