~Michele's room at the blind school~
Michele is walking around the room and knocks over a lamp. Irene comes in
and apologizes for startling her. Michele insists on putting the lamp up
herself. Irene tells her that in six months she'll be independent. She
allows Michelle to cry on her shoulder as Michelle tells her about leaving
Jesse without telling him that she was blind.

Meanwhile back in Springfield....Jesse is knocking on the Bauer's door.
Rick opens the door and Jesse asks him if Michele is there. Rick asks if
she's with him and Jesse tells him she was last night, but she took off.
Jesse shows him the letter that Michele left for him. Rick reminds him that
Chele has told him several times that she is leaving, but Jesse insists
that she wouldn't do that after what happened between them last night. Rick
says that what happened between them is none of his business (since when?)
Jesse asks for her number so he can speak to her. Rick apologizes but says
he can't do that.

Lets peak into the Spaulding Mansion...

Ben and Beth are in the living room talking....Beth wants to know why he
kissed her. He says he hates to see a woman cry. She says she never
figured him for the sensitive type...he says, "I'm not, you're too
beautiful a woman to resort to tears." Beth wants to know if he sees
everything in terms of manipulation. He says, "mostly." She asks him "if it
ever occurred to him that some people might have real feelings?" Ben tells
her that is a waste of time. He tells her the sob story of not being able
to tell his mother good bye. He tells her if you don't like your situation,
don't cry about it...change it.

Now lets visit New York....

where Phillip is delighted to see Harley walk back into the hotel suite.
He explains to her that by the time he figured out what she meant by
history it was late and he couldn't land because of the fog. He asks if
they can roll back the clock and celebrate New Years late.. Harley bitter
asks if he's sure his wife won't mind..and then lays into him about his
divorce being a technicality. She says that she knows he was with
Beth...Annie told her (uhh, and she believes Annie???)

Lighthouse twirls~

Still in New York...Phillip tells Harley how he couldn't figure out what
she meant by history and he ended up locked in the attic with Beth. She
says that she sent an airplane ticket to him. He says it didn't arrive.
Harley accuses Beth of intercepting the ticket. Phillip denies it and
Harley tells him to wake up..."Beth is doing everything she can to break
them up."

Commercial

Towers:

Reva joins Blake for breakfast and asks Blake whats bothering her. Blake
tells Reva that her problem is Ben. Reva blames Ben for the trials that
Abby is going through, but she wonders why Ben is specifically a problem
for Blake. Blake tells her about the bet she made with Ben. Reva asks what
Ben did after she told him where he could shove it... Blake sheepishly
admits, "thats just the thing; I took the bet."

Back at Spaulding:

Beth tells Ben that he almost showed feeling. Beth tells him she won't pry;
Ben decides to tell Beth about him being given up for adoption and how his
mother cried when she gave him away. He tells her how Ross kept him from
seeing his mother. Beth tells him that she has known Ross most of his life.
Ben tells her that he is scarred for life. He tells her "that beneath his
cold veneer he has an even colder interior." Beth is fascinated by him and
asks him out to breakfast. Ben says that would be nice.."for starters."

New York Hotel:

Harley and Phillip continue to argue. Phillip says that he would know it if
Beth was lying and there is no way she took that ticket. He also mentions
that Beth had plans to go out with Ben Warren and the last thing she
expected was to be locked in the attic with him. Phillip asks if she thinks
he's lying. She says no, but she can't say the same for the rest of the
Spaulding Mansion. She mentions Beth's friendship with Annie. Phillip
blames Annie for everything. Phillip wants them to pretend that none of
this happened. He asks why she came back. She tells him she lost
something...he finds a piece of paper on the floor and she tells him not to
read it...Phillip says that its addressed to him so that entitles him to
read it.

Commercial:

~Chele's room at the school of the blind~

Chele is walking around the room and losing count as she tries to walk
around. She isn't very confident of her ability to live her life like this.
She says, "Jesse, I miss you so much, I love you" and briefly (Thank God)
flashes on the two of them making love. She knocks over the lamp in anger
and says she never should have come to this place.

The Bauer house~ Chele's room there...

Jesse barges in with Rick in pursuit. Jesse ransacks his room and tells
Rick again how close he and Michele became the night before. Rick tells him
that Michele is trying to make things easier on him. Jesse begs him to call
Michele so that he can talk to her. Rick apologizes and says he can't.

Hotel Room:

Phillip and Harley fight over the paper. Phillip grabs the paper and Harley
threatens to leave and never come back if Phillip reads the paper. Phillip
locks her in the bathroom and tells her that all is "fair in love and
papers." Phillip reads the letter in which Harley tells Phillip how much
she loves him. He opens the door and tells her that he is glad she wrote
it. Harley whines that she wishes she had never gotten involved with him.
Phillip decides to shut her up by kissing her. IT WORKS!!!

Halftime....

We will continue with Part Two of Guiding Light....

Towers:

Reva wants to know how Blake could make a bet like that with Ben. Blake
tells her how Ben goaded her into doing it and how she has no intention of
really sleeping with him. Reva wants to know where her head was. Ben isn't
a problem that is going to go away. Blake asks for her advise and Reva
tells her that she should tell Ross everything. Blake says she can't do
that. [why not???] Reva wants to know if there is more of this that Blake
isn't telling her. Ben and Beth walks in at that point and Reva says they
definately have to do something about him.

Bauer House:

Jesse accuses Rick of just pretending to welcome him into the family. Jesse
tells him that he is not good enough for the Bauers. Jesse says he is going
to find w/ or w/o his help.

Commercial

Bauer House:

Rick tells him that it was Michele's decision and Jesse should respect her
wishes. Jesse says he can't accept that and Rick leaves him alone to pout.

Chele's Room at the house of the blind...

Michele insists on trying to clean up the broken bits of lamp. Irene tells
her that she can't do it by herself. Michele ends up cutting herself and is
angry that she isn't able to take care of herself. Irene lets her throw a
bit of a fit and tells her it will be alright. Irene tells her about Helen
Keller and how she learned how to see colors by touch. Michele tells her
that she can't understand how she feels...Irene says she does...she is blind.

New York: Hotel...

Phillip and Harley discuss what she wrote. Phillip wants Harley to admit
that she meant what she said in the poem. Harley admits between kisses that
she means what she wrote...she says that even beautiful words can be broken
& how can he be sure otherwise. He answers by kissing her and they fall
onto the bed.

Commercial:

Phillip and Harley and laying on top of the bed. Harley says they won't
have to fight much longer when Beth moves back to Arizona. Phillip admits
that she is staying in Springfield. Harley says that she can't deal with it
anymore. Phillip says that she must not have alot of faith in them if she
is going to bail out on them that soon. Harley says its not about them, its
about his feelings for Beth.

Towers:

Beth tells Ben that she told Phillip that he was going to help her get a
job & that they are seeing each other. Ben agrees to do it, but she'll owe
him.

Blake wants to know if she should warn Beth. Reva says no.

Beth observes that Ben is getting alot of attention. Ben says that their
stares are burning a hole in his back. Ben decides to go say hi to them.
Ben offers to pay their check when Reva says that she lost her appetite. He
also mentions that they are prosecuting the arsonists who set fire to the
Rock Cave. Ben takes great delight in mentioning that he has subpoenad
Abigal's parents to testify. The rewards of winning are so great, he taunts
Blake.

Chele's room at the School of the Blind:

Irene tells her that she is legally blind. Michele keeps apologizing; but
Irene tells her not to. The two decide to knock off lunch. Irene asks if
she is still sorry she is there...Michele says no, its the only thing she
can do.

Bauer House:

Rick tells Jesse that he is leaving for the hospital but he is welcome to
stay. Rick tells him that he is sorry that he can't help him and again
leaves again. Jesse looks at a picture of him and Michele and has a
flashback to them making love. {I'll leave it to everyone's imagination...)
He makes a vow that he won't lose her.

Towers:

Beth and Ben are talking...he tells her that he likes to cook & he bakes
bread to relax. He tells Beth that she has alot to give. Beth says that
sounded sincere. He says it was...but that "cynical and unfeeling are two
of his finer qualities."

Blake wants to know what Beth sees in him. {Stupid question..its obvious.)
Reva says "she doesn't know, he's nothing like Phillip." (Maybe thats the
appeal). Reva says that men like him underestimate women and thats how
we'll drive him out. Blake asks what Reva's up to as she takes a look at
whats inside Blake's planner. Reva asks Blake if she likes slumber parties.

New York Hotel:

Phillip says that Beth isn't going to drive them apart. Harley says he's
right b/c she is going to end it now before she gets dumped. She kisses him
and tells him its a goodbye kiss. She doesn't want to get dumped again.
Harley tells him that she wants him to resolve his feelings for his ex-wife
before she sees him again. She leaves and a dejected Phillip sits on the
bed and looks at the love "poem" that Harley wrote him.

The End
