about accesing a intranet site from safari

i have a intranet site.. which checks for the user name and domain name before it authenticates...

But while accessing the same site on mac, it was found that that safari does not ask for a username ....

how do i configure the safari with default user name ?

I wouldn't know how to do that, but can't you redirect Safari browsers to another page? On that page, you could have code that works with Safari. That should be quite doable with Javascript.
